Avoid a last minute scramble so that you're posting with a purpose.

Special Days in the Month
Note all holidays, special occasions, important observances, etc. Don't forget the fun ones! I like using HubSpot's social media holiday calendar.
Ex: National Superhero Day - share a testimonial explaining how your product/service "saved the day".
Think About the Month Itself
What is the season? What do people tend to do during this time? Are there any activities that are linked to the month?
Ex: May 21st is the first day of spring. Give your audience tips how they can do some spring cleaning (photographer - print out pictures; jeweler - clean out jewelry box).
Brainstorm Ways Your Business is Relevant
Do you have a solution to a problem that crops up at this particular time? Is your prdouct or service particuarly relevant to the month, or something happening this month?
Ex: January is when people make New Year's resolutions. How can your business help people keep them -- or let them go?
Don't worry about creating the content right now. Simply mark them down in a calendar so you'll be able to easily see what you'll be posting and when.

*Friendly tip: keep a notebook for brainstorming sessions. Sometimes the link between the month and your business aren't obvious -- but that doesn't mean they're not there!
